Alexander Chung
Alexander Chung
Best known for his enthusiasm and innovative choreography, Alexander Chung is an established choreographer, dancer and artistic director. In Grade ten Alex attended Maxwell international school on Vancouver Island B.C. Having many opportunities to choreograph and teach, his passion and love for dance was ignited when he was given a choreography part for the school’s company which toured Switzerland and Germany for three weeks. Alex later moved back to Edmonton and finished his high school education at Victoria school of performing and visual arts; where he studied Dance Composition and completed his international baccalaureate in Dance.
Now back in Edmonton, Alex has choreographed for groups performing alongside artists such as Danny Fernandes, Karl Wolf, Omarion, Dragonette, Sean Kingston, B2K, Justin Blais, Fanny Pack and Super Crew. He is currently choreographing and working with Nkindle productions. Constantly looking at bettering himself as a teacher, Alex attends many local dance conventions and routinely travels to Los Angeles to train from the worlds finest directors and choreographers. Alex is also the founder and current director/choreographer of Next Gen Dance Company; a well known hip hop company in the Alberta area. Over the years Alex’s teaching has given him various opportunities to teach extensively throughout Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Ontario; and also internationally in Switzerland, Germany and China.
Alex places strong values on fun and positive class environment were dancers come to learn, train, and make friends, yet still receive quality and professional training.

Carlo Atienza

Carlo Atienza
Originally from Edmonton, AB, Carlo has gone on to make an exceptional name for himself both as a performer and professional choreographer in the dance community. Since his first dance class at age 19, Carlo has been given numerous scholarships and awards for his work including the coveted title of Choreographer of the Year in 2008 and 2009 at the largest all hip hop competition in Western Canada, Artists Emerge as well as Most Outstanding Dancer of 2006. On top of these accolades, Carlo can be proudly associated with professional dance crews White Chocolate and 3D who have opened for many world renowned musical artists such as Boyz II Men, Nelly Furtado, Akon, The Game, K-Ci and Jojo, Neyo, Fabolous, Sean Kingston and not to mention having performed alongside crews such as Kaba Modern, Jabbawockeez, and Fanny Pak. Carlo has since decided to move to Vancouver, BC and made quite the impact on the community by becoming one of the choreographers for Kill the Lights Company, an artistic director of TwoFourSeven Company, an instructor at Harbour Dance Centre, all the while managing to bring together and direct his own professional crew “The Faculty” who recently took 1st place at Artists Emerge 2011 as well as World of Dance Vancouver 2011.
Carlo’s choreography credentials extend from productions such as the respected benefit concert Hip Hop for Hope to the pre-game show of the 2009 Grey Cup. He was also asked to be one of the main choreographers for the professional production Hip Hop Saved My Life which was given the opportunity to tour China in the summer of 2010.
In terms of style, Carlo can be described as a choreographer with an intricate new school feel while maintaining an emphasis on musicality and groove. He not only draws inspiration from the top choreographers of the west coast, but also from his fellow peers and most importantly his students. “Knowing how to learn is knowing how to grow. I always appreciate the work ethic of a dedicated student because it reminds me that we are always striving to improve regardless of our status. Not until we understand how to be inspired can we then inspire.”

Vince Akinyode
Vince began teaching 6 years ago and has had outstanding results as both dancer and instructor in such a short time. He is not only an active member with a performing group, but his career has given him the opportunity to work with many talented artists such as Ashanti, Shawn Desmond, Ludacris, Chris Brown, Boyz to Men, 112, Chingy, and Genuine. His numerous performances have included dancing for the royal Queen visit, and the official Juno after party viewed by Alice Cooper. Vince has also had the honor of performing at the 2009 Canadian Grey Cup half time show in Calgary Alberta Canada. He was also featured on “So You Think You Can Dance” seasons 1, 2 and 4. As an instructor, Vince has taught award-winning groups that have performed all around Canadian. He was also the recipient of the “Choreography of the Year” award at the all Hip Hop competition Artists Emerge judged by Jojo Diggs and Rhapsody James. His routines includes dance styles such as House, Street, New School Choreo, Diva, Krumping and Break Dancing. Vince’s easy going attitude combined with is passion for his art and sharing that with others creates a great learning environment for all students.
Jerome Esplana
Jerome Esplana, is one of Western Canada’s most sought after choreographer’s performer and director. His choreography is slowly becoming nation wide, travelling to teach workshops in Germany, Philippines, Toronto, Seattle, New York and Los Angeles were Jerome Esplana was the first Canadian Teacher to instruct at the Newly opened and much respected Movement Lifestlye studio. He started his dance training at the age of 10 at Fresh Groove productions with his director Cezar Tantoco, where he received most of his quick and intricate dance style from. Now, he teaches at the renowned Harbour Dance Centre and all over the lower mainland. Jerome is more than blessed to be constantly sharing is love of dance with his friends, students, and inspirations.
